Framed Handwritten Recipes for Meaningful Kitchen Art

As I shared last week, we recently helped my mother-in-law downsize and move. As I was cleaning out her kitchen, I came across her recipe books and found a fun treasure. Among some other fun vintage recipe books, there was a small black binder filled with handwritten recipes from my husbands great grandmother.

Her name was Mary Coffee and there are several newspaper clippings included among the recipes that are dated 1932 to 1934.

Since bringing this recipe book home, I have been pouring over these precious pages and couldn’t resist framing a few for our kitchen. These framed handwritten recipes bring me so much joy when I see them!

Her handwriting is so beautiful and the recipes themselves are so interesting! It seems no one hand writes anymore and certainly no one is baking like this anymore.
