Cranberry Salad is one of my favorites for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner. I got this recipe from my mom and she said it was one that my great-aunt Zoe always made. Those heirloom recipes really make a holiday meal something special.

Ingredients for Cranberry Salad with Jello

  • Fresh cranberries
  • Granulated sugar
  • Crushed pineapple – fresh pineapple not work, it will keep the Jello from setting up properly.
  • Oranges – fresh or canned mandarin oranges, cut into small pieces
  • Granny Smith apple, peeled and diced
  • Pomegranate arils
  • Toasted walnuts, chopped
  • Raspberry Jello or Cherry Jello

How to Make Cranberry Salad

  1. Place cranberries in a food processor with sugar and chop fine.
  2. Pour into large bowl set aside for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add pineapple, oranges, apple, pomegranate, and walnuts, mixing well.
  4. Prepare Jello according to package directions and pour over fruit mixture.
  5. Stir until all combined.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 small oranges segmented and diced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple peeled, cored and diced
